Link to internal files and folders

UpNote allows you to insert links that open files or folders stored locally on your desktop device. This helps you access supporting materials—such as documents, project folders, or reference files—directly from your notes.

On Mac

  1. Open the Finder app

  2. Right click on a file/folder/app and hold the Option key

  3. Select Copy "file_name" as Pathname (or select a file/folder and use the shortcut Cmd + Option + C to copy the pathname)

  4. Open a note editor in UpNote

  5. Use the shortcut Cmd + K to add a link.

  6. Type the link title and paste the link in the Link field (or use the shortcut Cmd + V)

On Windows

  1. Open the Explorer app

  2. Hold Shift and right click on a file/folder/app and select Copy as path

  3. Open a note editor in UpNote

  4. Use the shortcut Ctrl + K to add a link.

  5. Type the link title and paste the link in the Link field (or use the shortcut Ctrl + V)
