# Scan documents

Follow the steps below to scan documents on iPhone and iPad apps.

1. Tap the **`+`** button in the formatting bar and select **`Scan Document`** \

2. Allow UpNote to access the camera
3. Take a photo of your document
4. Edit the scan by dragging the four corners if needed
5. Tap **`Next`** in the upper right corner of the document screen to review
6. Tap **`Done`** to insert the scanned document
