# Protect notes from unwanted edits

Edit protection is a mode to prevent your notes from being edited accidentally. In this mode, your notes are open in a read-only mode and you need to click/tap the Edit button to edit your notes. This feature is available on all platforms.

### On **desktop**

To enable this mode, go to **`Settings`** > **`Editor`** > enable **`Protect notes from unwanted edits`**.

### On mobile

To enable this mode, go to **`Settings`** > **`Editor`** > enable **`Protect notes from unwanted edits`**.
