# Focus mode
In Focus Mode, the sidebar and notes list will be hidden so that you can totally focus on your writing.
On **Mac**, **Windows** and **Linux**, you can toggle this mode with the shortcut **`Cmd/Ctrl`** + **`Shift`** + **`F`**, or click the Expand button in the upper right corner of your note editor.
On **iPad**, you can tap the Expand button in the upper left corner of your note editor to enter the Focus Mode.
### Line length in focus mode
On **desktop,** you can set the line width in the Focus Mode by clicking the **`...`** button in the upper right corner of your UpNote window and selecting **`Line length`**
### Create new note in focus mode
On **desktop**, you may choose to always create a new note in Focus Mode. To do so, go to **`Settings`** > **`General`** and enable **`Create new note in focus mode`**
in the upper right corner of your note editor.
On **iPad**, you can tap the Expand button
