# Forget lock password

Follow the steps below if you forget your lock password:

### On desktop

1. Click the **`Sign out`** button\

2. Sign in again with your UpNote account password. If you also forget the account password, you can reset the password as per instruction [here](https://help.getupnote.com/~/revisions/OefAogcTDRyDfPXWqIui/account-and-password/reset-password).
3. When you sign in again, your lock password will be set as your account password. Use that to unlock the notebook or change it again from **`Settings`** > **`General`** > **`Change lock password`**.

### On mobile

1. Sign out and sign in again
2. Sign in again with your UpNote account password. If you also forget the account password, you can reset the password as per instruction [here](https://help.getupnote.com/~/revisions/OefAogcTDRyDfPXWqIui/account-and-password/reset-password).
3. You will be asked to create a new passcode when accessing locked notebook
