# Export your notes

Whenever you want to do a backup or share your notes in a certain format, you can easily do so by exporting your notes from UpNote. 

There are multiple document types you can export your notes to:

* PDF
* Text
* HTML
* Markdown

### On desktop

Click the **`...`** icon in the top bar of your note editor, then select **`Export`** from the dropdown menu.

You may also use the keyboard shortcut **`Cmd/Ctrl`** + **`E`** to export your note.

#### Export multiple notes

If you want to export multiple notes at once, you can [select multiple notes](https://help.getupnote.com/~/revisions/OefAogcTDRyDfPXWqIui/new-to-upnote/select-multiple-notes#on-desktops) in the note list and select the **`Export`** function in the right panel.\

You can select if you want to export these notes as a single document or separate ones.

#### Export all notes

* On **Mac**: Go to **`File`** > **`Export all notes`**\

* On **Windows**: Go to **`Settings`** > **`General`** > **`Export all notes`**

### On mobile

Tap the **`...`** button in the upper right corner of the note editor, then select **`Export`** from the dropdown menu.
