**FAQ: When using the Web Clipper, why do I see a warning that it requests access to my web activity?**\
This warning appears because the UpNote Web Clipper needs permission to read the content of the web page you’re clipping. It uses this access to extract the main article, remove ads and navigation elements, and then send the cleaned content to your UpNote app.

The process is entirely local and offline — no data is sent to any external server, and you can even use the Web Clipper without signing in to an UpNote account.

The browser displays this warning because some web pages may contain sensitive information, but **UpNote never collects, stores, or accesses any personal or private data**.
